พระตำหนักล่าง เป็นตึกพื้น ๒ ชั้น สั้น ๓ มุข ยาว ๑ มุข พระบาทสมเด็จพระจุลจอมเกล้าเจ้าอยู่หัว ทรงพระกรุณาโปรดเกล้าให้สร้างถวายเพื่อเป็นที่ประทับของสมเด็จพระมหาสมณเจ้ากรมพระยาวชิรญาณวโรรส ต่อมาใช้เป็นที่ตั้งของมหามกุฏราชวิทยาลัย เมื่อแรกตั้ง ต่อมาใช้เป็นสำนักงานคณะธรรมยุต.

      Phra Tamnak Lang is the two storeys building with three short porches and one long porch. It was built by H.M. King Rama V (Chulalongkorn) to be the residence of H.H. Somdet Phra Maha Samana Chao Krom Phraya Vajiranyanavarorasa. Later, it was used as the location of Mahamakut Buddhist University when it was first initiated. At present, it is the Office of the Dhammayuttika.
